If you are looking for prayers for coworkers, this page offers a written prayer you can read aloud as it stands or use as a starting point for your own words. It works well at the start of a workday, during a lunch break, or on the drive home when you are thinking about the people you spend so many hours beside. Each part is designed to be prayed in a few minutes, so you can return to it as often as you need.

Prayers for Coworkers

Lord, you know the people I work alongside better than I do. You know the ones who are carrying quiet worries about money, health, or a child who is struggling at school. You know the ones who came in tired this morning, who are dreading a difficult meeting, or who are wondering whether they still have a place here. Be near to each of them today. Give them rest where they are weary and clarity where they are confused.

Father, I ask that you would help us treat one another with patience and honesty. Where there is tension between us, soften my heart first and show me my part in it. Where someone has been unkind or careless, give me grace rather than resentment, and give me the wisdom to speak the truth in love when it is needed. Let my words be useful and my silence be kind. Keep me from gossip and from taking pleasure in another person’s struggle.

Thank you for the work we do together and for the ways we depend on one another to get it done. Bless the coworkers I see every day and the ones I rarely speak to. Show each of us that our labor matters to you, and let our conversations, our small kindnesses, and our honest effort point others toward you. Amen.

A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment

Lord, I bring my coworkers to you now. Be with the ones who are anxious, the ones who are grieving, and the ones who feel overlooked. Give me patience in the next conversation and kindness in the way I speak. Help me do my work with integrity and let my attitude reflect your care for the people around me. Amen.

Scriptures to Pray Alongside

Philippians 2:3-4

3 Doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself; 4 each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.

(WEB)

Pray these words for your coworkers by asking God to shape your attitude toward them. Ask him to make you more willing to put their needs alongside your own, especially when work pressure makes that hard.

Romans 12:18

If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.

(WEB)

Use this verse to ask for peace in your workplace relationships. Pray that you would do your part honestly and that God would work in the places where you cannot control the outcome.

Colossians 3:12-14

12 Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. 14 Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection.

(WEB)

Pray this passage over your team, asking that compassion, kindness, and patience would mark how you treat one another. Ask God to help you choose these qualities again in the moments when they feel least natural.

Galatians 6:2

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

(WEB)

Bring to God the coworkers who are carrying heavy burdens right now. Ask him to show you practical ways you might help lighten their load without expecting anything in return.

Proverbs 16:3

Commit your deeds to the LORD, and your plans shall succeed.

(WEB)

Commit the daily tasks and the outcomes of your work to the Lord through this verse. Ask him to direct your efforts and to guide your coworkers as they plan and make decisions.

How to Pray This Prayer

Many people find it helpful to pray for their coworkers at the start of the workday, before the first email or meeting pulls their attention away. Sit for a moment with a cup of coffee or at your desk before you log in, and read the main prayer slowly. You might keep a short list of names on a sticky note near your monitor so you can lift each person up by name as you pass them in the hallway or see them on a video call.

You can also pray the shorter version during the day when a difficult conversation is coming or when you notice someone looking worn out. Pair it with something you do with your hands, like making a cup of tea for a colleague or straightening up a shared table, so that your prayer becomes part of your ordinary care for them. If you work with a small group, consider inviting one or two of them to pray together over lunch or during a short standing meeting.

A Blessing to Close

May the Lord give each person you work with a sense of peace that does not depend on their circumstances. May he strengthen their hands for the tasks ahead and remind them that their worth is not measured by their output. And may he make you a steady and generous presence among them, so that your work becomes a quiet witness to his kindness.
