This page gathers Scripture passages for anyone who has been turned down, left out, overlooked or dismissed, whether by a friend, a family member, an employer or a community. Each verse is paired with a short reflection and one practical way to carry it through the day. These passages share a common thread: God does not measure your worth by who accepts you, and He remains near when people do not.

(WEB)

(WEB)
James encourages believers to count trials as joy, because they produce steadfastness. Consider one way this disappointment might be shaping your patience, and thank God for working in the process even when you cannot yet see the outcome.
How to Use These Verses
Choose two or three verses that speak most directly to your experience of rejection and write them on index cards or in a notes app on your phone. Read them at the start of your day, when you are most likely to feel the sting of being left out, and again before bed as you reflect on what happened.
Pray the verses back to God rather than only reading them. Put the passage into your own words, name the person or situation that hurt you, and ask God to replace the lie that you are unwanted with the truth of his nearness. Returning to the same verse for several weeks often reveals new layers of comfort.
A Short Prayer for Rejection
Father, you know the sting of being turned away, and you know the ache of the people who have walked away from me. I bring you the hurt I am carrying today, and I ask you to be near me in it. Remind me that my worth rests in your love and not in the approval of others. Help me to trust that you have a place for me, and give me courage to keep reaching out to people where I can. Amen.
